I carry out careful, evidence-based family history research for people who want clear and reliable answers.
This might mean starting from the beginning, or helping with an area where things have become unclear or uncertain.
Family history research
Tracing your family line using historical records, with a focus on accuracy. This is not about building the largest possible tree, but about building one that is properly supported. I have particular experience working with Scottish and Polish records, alongside wider UK and European research.
DNA interpretation
Looking at DNA results in the context of documented family history. My background in biology helps me interpret these results carefully, rather than taking them at face value or drawing conclusions too quickly.
Breaking through “brick walls”
Revisiting areas where research has stalled. This often involves checking earlier assumptions, looking more closely at the evidence, and approaching the problem from a different angle.
Probate and heir tracing
Research to identify and verify potential beneficiaries, with a focus on clear and well-supported conclusions.
